OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)
Basic Function:
Operates surveying equipment such as theodolite, laser levels, etc., takes measurements, collects survey data, handles the design works, controls the direction of the project on its dimension and angular measurements, providing data or points to start with horizontal and vertical values, prepares plans using computer programs and raises to supervisor for further processing.
Work Performed:
-Prepares hand drawings of surveyed areas indicating elevations, distances, transitions, etc. Marks the drill holes to guide the driller where to get samples for laboratory examination to determine location of ore deposit.
-Uses survey equipment to establish sight points, determines elevations to ensure that mining is progressing in correct grade to avoid over-cut and under-cut.
-Records collected data and performs calculations on such data and raises to supervisor for further processing.
-Marks the ore limit to identify on ground the actual location of ore and waste materials for mining.
-Makes a survey of the crushed ore at heap leach pad at the end of each month to determine the total volume crushed by the crusher.
-Inputs data onto SURPAC system for analysis and development of plans and information for future mining. Updates regularly all the plans necessary for the running of the department, using AutoCAD and SURPAC.
-Ensures that survey equipment is maintained in proper work order at all times, set-up correctly for operation and needed survey material and supplies are replenished regularly.
-Carries out miscellaneous survey works such as topographic survey construction survey or others, as required.
-Observes safety regulations and ensures that Helpers comply with such instructions.
-Carries out similar or other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
-B. Sc. In Geodetic Engineering.
-Minimum 5 years experience in surveying with the mining industry.
-Good knowledge of Arabic and English.
-Good knowledge of computer, MS Applications and survey software such as SURPAC, AUTOCAD spreadsheets, etc.
