Knowledge, Skills & Experience
-B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) in Mechanical 
-Must have satisfied the academic requirements for Chartered Engineers status or equivalent. 
-Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
-Minimum 10 years experience in the maintenance of various equipment in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry and including a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in similar capacity.
-Leadership & motivational skills, good knowledge of Engineering and project
Management skills.

Primary Purpose of the Job
-Directs, inspects and coordinates maintenance work on Oit & Gas stations, Powered Water Injection, Gas Lift and Wellhead Maintenance, is directly responsible for the prompt maintenance of vertical and horizontal pumps, compressors, surface pumps and motors, gas turbines, injection compressors, vessels, generators and associated piping and equipment in all field areas in support of production operations to ensure their safe and efficient operational availability and reliability at all times.
-Review/ update predictive &. preventive maintenance program.
-Operate and authorized permit to work system.
-Ensures that materials used meet standards and specifications.
-Maintain industrial housekeeping at high level throughout.
-Manage the work of assigned personnel including allocation of job responsibilities, coaching, appraising performance and developing staff.
-Schedule workloads and set priorities including inspection of contractor work.
-Provide technical assistance.
-Maintain equipment documentation/movable lists, drawings and records, according to ISO standards.
-Ensure SAP records are updated, and provide all the technical input to the database for the new equipment.
-Troubleshooting on plant equipment

Principal Accountabilities
-Advises Lead Maintenance Engineer of the status of all plants and piping in his area of responsibility on a daily basis. Reports problems and action taken and progress status of any project work in the area concerned.
-Arrange for the prompt repair of plant equipment with the assistance of the appropriate support engineer and lor engages the temporary use of transferred personnel or contracted work/staff (this may include initiating & processing contract work orders based on the Scope of Work requirement).
-Participates with Technicians as necessary in more critical work and ensures that it is completed to the required standards.
-Assign work to subordinates with details of scheduling, permits required and any particular technical or special requirement.
-Liaise closely with area Field Production Supervisor in sorting out any problems revealed in the Daily Production log and agrees on the necessary action to improve operational reliability and efficiency.
-Ensures that the planned maintenance routines prepared by the Planning section are carried out. Reviews planning programs and advises / feedback information useful for future consideration to the planning section.
-Comments on plans produced by Assistant Manager (Business Planning) in conjunction with Lead Maintenance Engineer in connection with inspections, modifications, or major repair work during shutdowns, includes commenting on priorities, changes in schedules, the feasibility of proposed sequences etc.
-Recommends/implements plant modifications as requested by Operations Division.
-Assesses with the Lead Maintenance Engineer the need to hire the contractors for major shutdowns, including the preparation of tender documents and Scope of Work. Ensures that major shutdowns are properly coordinated with Production and where contractors are employed they are properly supervised by his staff, co-ordinates commissioning and testing of re-commissioned or modified plant.
-Coordinates the execution of work requests raised from within or outside Production Department as requested by the Lead Maintenance Engineer. Generates SAP work orders to those concerned. Follows up and updates Lead Maintenance Engineer on the progress.
-Ensures that all records, completed work orders, maintenance and shutdown reports are properly filled in and submitted to Lead Maintenance Engineer or entered in the SAP under relevant equipment history where applicable.
-Review facilities in fields annually, in terms of workshop equipment, tooLs, spares and other materials and makes recommendations on additions and replacements as warranted, in accordance with annual routine operating/ cap' non routine budgets.
-Issues hot and cold work permits and applies for excavation permits as required to Maintenance personnel and contracts, includes initiating or compiling, approving and passing to Operations personnel for countersigning. On completion of work, signs off jointly with Operations personnel.
-Approves contractors time and work sheets, includes checking whether the work has been carried out on a daily or lump sum basis according to the terms of the agreement and reports of hours spent and equipment used are true and correct.
-Carries out other similar or related duties such as carrying out standby duties (on call) as Production Duty Officer on a rotational basis.
-Expected to carry out leave relief duties with other Lead Maintenance
Engineer.
-Raises Reservations and PR for materials requirements. Contacts Materials
Supervisors in Doha to follow-up on materials ordered.
-Holds safety and house keeping meetings. Implements recommendations.
-Highlights areas of maintenance work requiring future planning and additional funding to Lead Maintenance Engineer for action.
-Reviews the spare parts requirements including the overall spares for major equipment overhauls. Raises the necessary material requisitions and stock proposal forms as necessary.
-Completes regular appraisal reports on assigned trainees in his area. Ensures close adherence to their Individual Development Program (IDP).
-Stand-in for Lead Maintenance Engineer as and when required during leave periods.
-Proposes yearly budget required for routine and non-routine maintenance.
-Ensure safety procedures are followed by QP and Contractor staff.
-Ensure safety, health and environment awareness are followed up.
-Follow up QMS standard and recommend for update as required.
