ASIAPOWER OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)
Job Purpose:
-Perform electrical commissioning activities completing pre and post energization checks, completing quality control records. Assists or supervise with vendors the testing and tuning of equipment. Conduct initial drive runs. Troubleshoots electrical problems may arise during the commissioning or operation of the facility.
-In some stages of the commissioning phase the Commissioning Electrical Technician may work on a roster, 24 hour a day, 7 day a week basis initially on an 10 hour shift arrangement.
Principal Accountabilities:
-Assists the electrical commissioning engineers in the commissioning and test of switchgears automation systems such as Relays, RTU’s, ATS, MTS in switchgears from 0,4 to 110 Kv.
-Performs pre and post energization checks on Power Transformers, CB’s, PT’s, CT’s, MV Switches and AC/DC System such as UPS, Chargers, Batteries and Transfer Switches
-Perform primary and secondary testing of instrument transformers (current and voltage transformers), polarity and ratio check.
-Performs pre and post energization checks of DC power supply system including the batteries, the chargers and switchboards.
-Performs point to point tests.
-Assists during setting‐up and testing of MV/LV VSD and performs parametrization changes and trouble shooting.
-Ensure that the commissioning obligations of the project are carried out in accordance with the terms of contract, quality and schedule in conformance with good practice of commissioning standards.
-Ensures operation and performance are in compliance with the design criteria.
-Populates the documentation for electrical commissioning such inspection reports or commissioning test reports.
-Investigates and troubleshoots electrical problems may arise during the plant commissioning or operation.
-Comply with all instructions for job task completion.
Professional/Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience
-Experience on commissioning and trouble shooting of high and low voltage electrical switchgears.
-Experience on commissioning of electrically operated equipment such electrical motors, valves, pumps.
-Familiarity in the use of PCs and a range of software
-Knowledge of quality assurance
-Candidate have work experience in water treatment industry (RO - Desalination).

-Have a high sense of ‘ownership’ for the plant and application to the broad range of tasks required.
-Capable of working using own initiative.
-Good English required, both spoken and written.
Educational / Vocational Qualifications:
Electrical engineering or electrical trade qualifications, supported by reasonable hands-on experience in the water industry or a related industry (e.g., chemical process industry).
