Senior Strategy Analysts (SKD-310)
Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established by Emiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in the State of Qatar. Job Description:
ASIAPOWER OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)

Primary Purpose of the Job
To develop strategies and plans for managing the QP Group’s portfolio of interests (including JVs and PSAs)

Principal Accountabilities
-Leads strategic planning activities in relation to one or more of QP’s major business segments (the “assigned area of responsibility”)
-Provides specialist perspectives and other inputs to reviews and updates of the Group Mission, Objective and Vision statements.
-Provides specialist perspectives and other inputs to the Head of Group Strategy, the Manager Strategic Planning, and the Director Strategic Planning and Policy, regarding the overall effectiveness of QP’s planning systems, and other general planning matters.
-Provides specialist perspectives and other inputs to the overall content and design of the Group Corporate Business Plan to ensure it is an effective tool for implementing all aspects of QP’s Mission, Objective and Vision statements, and an effective communication tool.
-Coordinates with Sr. Specialists - Performance Analysis to ensure consistency in the design of the Group Corporate Business Plan and Corporate Performance Report.
-Coordinates with other Senior Specialists to ensure consistency of Group and QP Corporate Business Plans, and to assist in the review of Industrial City plans and projects.
-Produces the Group Corporate Business Plan for his assigned area of responsibility, ensuring that requirements and deadlines are met.  Regularly reports progress, and deals with problems that are identified.
-Ensure the Group Corporate Business Plan is consistent with corporate assumptions, and ensure the fitness of the plan as a tool for QP Group strategic planning.
-Ensures regular consultation with affiliate companies and other QP directorates on all business issues within his assigned area of responsibilities, and to discuss their Business Plans, their planning systems and best practices.
-Provides information about Group plans to outside parties such as Financial Institutes, IMF.
-Reviews investment proposals by Group companies for economic feasibility and to ensure strategic fit.
-Coordinates with the Finance Directorate to ensure consistency between the Group Corporate Business Plan and the finance plan and annual budget.
-Responsible for implementation, maintenance and use of systems that support the Group Strategy Section.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
-A university degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Economics or Finance preferably at a post graduate level and industrial courses in management, planning, economic modelling and financial analysis. 
-Needs to have a deep understanding of technical and business matters across a wide range of upstream and downstream oil and gas businesses.  Likely to have at least 12 years experience in such businesses, (but might be less if the candidates has a combination of industry and senior level experience that is exceptionally well matched to the position requirements).
-Strong leadership and influencing skills to lead discussions in multidisciplinary teams involving other QP departments and outside organisations
-Particular experience in economic analysis, financial analysis and feasibility studies at project, business & corporate level.
-Comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of the marketing, commercial, technical, operational influences on business decisions throughout one or more major business sectors
-Sound overall knowledge of inter-corporate processes (e.g. legal, finance, accounting) in order to incorporate requirements for these activities into Group strategies and plans.
-Ability to recognize issues of strategic importance, and to quantify the possible corporate impact.
-Needs a mix of skills and experience including formalised planning systems, strategic thinking, and an ability to understand the practical realities and challenges of detailed implementation of projects and business plans.
-High skills in designing, writing and editing reports for senior management..
-High presentation skills (Board level contacts), communication skills, and consensus building abilities.
-Ability to communicate complex issues to high-level audiences
-Excellent analytical, mathematical and computer modelling skills.
-Good personal management skills
-Must have extremely well developed mentoring and project management skills.
