Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established by Emiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in the State of Qatar. Job Description:
ASIAPOWER OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)

Primary Purpose of the Job
To develop strategies and plans for managing the activities which QP directly engages.

Principal Accountabilities
-Assists the Manager, Strategic Planning in developing, periodically reviewing and updating the Mission, Objective and Vision statements for QP.
-Participates in discussions with the Manager Strategic Planning, and the Director Strategic Planning and Policy, regarding the overall effectiveness of QP’s planning systems, and other general planning matters.
-Establishes the overall content and design of the QP Corporate Business Plan.  Ensures the QP -Corporate Business Plan is an effective tool for implementing all aspects of QP’s Mission, Objective and Vision statements.  Ensures the plan is an effective communication tool.
-Coordinates with Head of Performance Analysis to ensure consistency in the design of the QP Corporate Business Plan and Corporate Performance Report.
-Coordinates with Head of Group Strategy, to ensure consistency of QP and Group Corporate Business Plans, and to obtain Group Strategy section assistance in the review of Industrial City plans and projects
-Oversees the production of the QP Corporate Business Plan.  Ensures that responsibilities and deadlines are clearly established.  Regularly reviews progress, and ensures that problems are identified and dealt with.
-Ensure the internal consistency of the different parts of the QP Corporate Business Plan, consistency with corporate assumptions, and the fitness of the plan as a tool for QP strategic planning.
-Ensures regular consultation with other QP Directorates and Department on all issues within his assigned area of responsibilities
-Provides direction and guidance to five senior specialists reporting to him.
-Oversees the provision of information about QP plans to outside parties such as Financial Institutes, IMF
-Oversees the review of investment proposals by QP Directorates and Departments for economic feasibility and to ensure strategic fit.
-Coordinates with the Finance Directorate to ensure consistency of the QP Corporate Business Plan and the finance plan and annual budget 
-Manages the establishment of systems to support the functions outlined above, and oversees the implementation and use of these systems within the QP Strategy Section.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
-A university degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Economics or Finance preferably at a post graduate level and industrial courses in management, planning, economic modelling and financial analysis. 
-Needs to have a deep understanding of technical and business matters across a range of upstream and downstream oil and gas businesses.  Likely to have at least 15 years experience in such businesses, (but might be less if the candidates has a combination of industry and senior level experience that is exceptionally well matched to the position requirements).
-Needs a good understanding of business processes and support functions, in order to assist support functions in QP to develop plans that are well aligned with core business plans.
-Ability to recognize external issues of importance, and to quantify the possible corporate impact.
-Strong supervisory skills to lead a team of professionals at the specialist level.
-Must have extremely well developed mentoring and project management skills.
-Needs a mix of skills and experience including formalised planning systems, strategic thinking, and an ability to understand the practical realities and challenges for both core and support functions.
-Particular experience in economic analysis, financial analysis and feasibility studies at a business & corporate level.
-Comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of the marketing, commercial, technical, operational influences on business decisions for a wide range of business areas
-Sound overall knowledge of inter-corporate processes (e.g. legal, finance, accounting) in order to tie current activities to future plans.
-High skills in designing, writing and editing reports for senior management
-High presentation skills (Board level contacts), communication skills, and consensus building abilities.
-Ability to communicate complex issues to high-level audiences
-Excellent analytical, mathematical and computer modelling skills.
-Good personal management skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
